The purpose of this research would be the influence of marriage on the empowerment of physically-handicapped people (physical-motor handicapped ones, visceral, sensory disabilities) with mediation of the social capital in Kohgiluyeh Boyer-e Ahmad province. The theoretical framework of this research is formed based on the structure-finding theory of Giddnez, social capital theory, group-therapy theory; human needs theory of Mezlou, Pirlin support theory and Glaser selection theory. Method for performing this research is survey-based that in which a questionnaire with conducting personal interviews for collecting data has been used. Statistical population of the research includes all physically-handicapped people (physical-motor, visceral, sensory disabilities) supported by the Welfare Organization of Kohgiluyeh Boyer-Ahmad province (for each city) with over 10189 people. The research sample size was 370 individuals using Cochran formula and then clustered sampling between eight townships (eight clusters) of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-e Ahmad province has been used. Data analysis was done using SPSS21 and AMOS19 software. Descriptive findings of the research indicate that the average empowerment score of physically-handicapped people is in moderate to high level and also analytical results of the research show that there is no significant relationship between age, sex, marital status, type of disability and marriage with the empowerment of the physically-handicapped people. But there is a significant relationship between social capital and the empowerment of physically-handicapped people. Finally, results of the structural model findings showed that marriage alone does not have any influence on the empowerment of physically-handicapped people and thus it has got all its impact from the social capital mediation. Therefore, forasmuch as the direct effect is significant and the indirect effect is insignificant, our research mediation model would be a perfect model of mediation. |
