Such friendships can strongly challenge the foundations of religion, family, and marriage. This study intends to analyze the relationship between watching satellite and friendship with opposite sex. Through survey, 384 teenagers from Shiraz were studied. The theoretical framework is cultivation theory. The results indicated that most of the respondents were used to watch satellite, and 53.9 percent of the teenagers have experienced friendships with the opposite sex. Data analysis showed that there is a significant relationship between the number of hours of watching satellite for fun and porn, and the experience of friendship with opposite sex. But there was no significant relationship between watching non-porn, news, and documentaries, and friendship with opposite sex. Factors of watching satellite for fun, porn, news or documentaries were all included in multiple regression analysis. M3 ER -
