A Study in the Social and Cultural Effects of Citizen Training in Urban Waste Management

This paper is due to study the citizen’s social and cultural training of waste management in the 13th district of “Nirooye Havaee”. The method conducted here is analytical descriptive, cross-sectional and practical. Data was gathered with a documentary method and also a survey was conducted with deep interviews and focus groups with people who have been received the waste management trainings, the experts in recycling organization of 13th district and also the trainers. Based on this study the findings were an increase in people’s awareness about waste sorting, with a primitive and direct effect; an increase in people’s participation in protecting the environment of the district, with a secondary and indirect effect and also an increasment in participating in other activities with a cumulative and additive effect; an improvement in the cleanness of the district and an increase in municipality’s income both with a secondary and indirect effect. There was also an income increase for the contractor with a direct and primitive effect. A decrease in environmental pollution with a cumulative and indirect effect; the satisfaction of the contractor, the satisfaction of the residents and also the increasment of the social trust among the trained persons, all with a cumulative and additive effect. |
