The study on Social Factors Relevant to Attitude in promotion of Women's Participation in Managerial Levels

women have fundamental role in increasing productivity and social and economic development of countries but in the labor market women have had small roll in participation being elected as high ranking organizational management. The main and basic purpose of this research is evaluation of the social factors relevant to attitude in promotion of women's participation in managerial levels. In order to assemble the theoretical framework of this research the Feminist Theory and the Glass Ceiling Theory have been used and the research model has been developed based on the proposed theories. This research has been conducted with surveying method and the questionnaire technique has been used. The statistical population is consisting of all Payame Noor University Headquarters; which a sample in number of 248 persons of whom was selected and was examined with Stratified Random Sampling Method. The most important findings of this research indicate that there is negative effect stereotype beliefs of gender and belief in gender inequality on attitude in promotion of women's participation in managerial levelsand men have accepted stereotype beliefs of gender and gender inequality more than women, men believe in gender stereotypes and gender inequality more than women and female staff have more positive attitude in promotion of women's participation in managerial levels rather than male staff. As the other result of this study about the glass ceiling factors we can point to the significance of difference of women and men's attitude towards personal, organizational and cultural factors. The other result of this study was significance of difference of attitude according to the job category, i.e. low-level staff, first-level managers and middle managers have more positive attitude in promotion of women's participation in managerial levels rather than senior managers. In multivariate analysis, stereotype beliefs of gender variable have had the most negative effect on attitude in promotion of women's participation and belief in gender inequality variable has least effect on their attitudes.
